CANEY:

knowledge sharing.

an intentional space where people gather in community, to share knowledge, in talking circles, and to invite other nations and individuals to teach, and to practice traditional crafts. It is also a safe space from which we can welcome and work with people who are seeking birth support, or support with other traditional healing.

heal.

We ask ourselves, why do we do what we do? Why is culture and oral knowledge so essential to who we are as indigenous people? What we have identified is that healing is a necessary part of our life journey, that crosses all intersections of human society. We share the knowledge we have to assist in the journey of healing, the journey of life.

learn.

While it may be cliché to state that we are all students of life, the reality is that our journey here is about learning. We learn to grow, and grow to learn. In that we share what we know, which is essential to the survival of our culture, and as a people.

build.

community is the incubator for the knowledge shared, and the healing that occurs. western society puts great importance on individuality and independence. We live by understanding we are all single parts of a whole that are inextricably linked, and necessary to work together to move forward.
